Hello June
It’s a new month and I’m a little late to the party, but how about we do a June preview. We have so much going on this month and a few changes in content coming to Instagram and here on the blog. Here’s a little rundown of what the Hawley’s are doing this month.
Last Day of School
We celebrated the end of another school year. It was kind of a big year for all of us. This was Maverick’s first year at school (1’s class) and Madison’s first year of VPK. It was also the year that I transitioned from a stay-at-home mom into a Preschool teacher. Totally unexpectedly and not at all what I thought I would be doing. But here we are, welcoming our first summer vacation!

Beach Week

The first week of June is always our beach week. We have a timeshare on Fort Myers Beach and do a little staycation every year. It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year, with our favorite people. Lots of sun, sand, laughter and family time.
Check out the homemade popsicles we made this year! They were the perfect treat to be the summertime heat.
Logan’s Contractor Exam
June is also a HUGE month for Logan because he is taking 2 out of 3 General Contractor Exams. The General Contractor Exam is broken up into three parts: Business and Finance, General Contractor Project Management & General Contractor Contractor Administration. He will be taking the project management and administration portions of the test.
If you’re the praying type, PLEASE pray for him! He has severe testing anxiety and extremely nervous for these tests. I know he will do great!
Becoming a General Contractor is a huge step for Logan and the growth of Hawley Construction. He has big plans for the future of our company and this is a big step. Speaking of running a company, I’m trying to convince Logan to write a series about what it’s really like to own/run your own business.
New Partnerships
You know I only partner with companies I truly love and share products that I personally use. In June, we have two new partnerships to share! One of them being a Father’s Day promotion. So, if you’re looking for a good Father’s Day gift for the men in your life, keep an eye on Instagram.
The other product is a vitamin that I’ve been taking and loving lately. I’m working on creating a healthier lifestyle and taking better care of my body and this has been so helpful. Keep an eye out for that, because I even have a discount code to share with you.
Road Tripping
Hi, we are the Hawley’s and we love road trips! It wouldn’t be summer if we didn’t start it with a road trip. The kids and I are heading to PA for the summer and Logan is joining us for the road trip portion of our trip. He’s really only coming so I don’t have to drive the whole thing myself, which I appreciate.
We leave Friday, June 11th, after Logan’s exam. We just want to get a few hours under our belt to make the rest of the trip manageable. Our first stop, Jacksonville, Florida. We are staying downtown and won’t have much time for sightseeing or adventures. But, we definitely need food recommendations! Leave a comment and share your favorite eats in the Jacksonville area.
Our second stop, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Roanoke Rapids is known for its outdoor activities, although we won’t have much time for those. Our plan is to visit a local park, enjoy dinner and breakfast, then head out. If you’ve ever been, share you favorite local spots.
We’ve become pros at this road tripping thing, especially road trips with kids. If you’re intimidated by traveling with your littles, follow along on Instagram this month. I’ll be sharing our road trip tips and tricks in stories. Shop our favorite road trip must-haves using the graphic or on the Liketoknow.it shopping app.
Summer In Pennsylvania
The kids and I will be spending our summer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with my family. Logan has a business to run, so he won’t be staying up there with us. It’s bittersweet. We are excited to escape the heat and explore a new place for the summer. But, we will miss daddy so much!
With that being said, the content you see on here and our other social media platforms will look a little different this summer. I will be pausing RV content until August and focusing on lifestyle, travel, and kid-friendly activities. If you’re here for RV content, I hope you’ll stick around for the summer. I promise, RV content will resume in the fall.
You’ll be seeing more travel guides for places around Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. If you have recommendations for places we should go, comment them below.
I’ll also be sharing kid-friendly summer activities and adventures with littles. Our goal is to see how many of the activities we can complete from our 100 Outdoor Activities summer bucket list. Who wants to join us?!
