Frankincense is considered a holy oil that was given to Jesus after his birth by the wise men – “And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11 – Frankincense has a sweet, honey-like, woodsy aroma that is great for grounding and spiritual connectedness. It can help create a relaxing and focused environment to support prayer and meditation. Frankincense is great for skin support and is used to enhance skin for an even skin tone. It is a common ingredient in anti-aging creams and hydrating face serums. Frankincense is known as being a supporting oil, meaning it helps to enhance other oils it is blended with.
Frankincense can be found in the Premium Starter Kit (PSK), the Welcome Home Starter Kit, and the Holiday Starter Bundle (Winter 2020). You can purchase your starter kit and get started with Young Living by clicking the icon at the end of the page.

Topically
Frankincense can be applied directly to the skin and does not require dilution. However, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to dilute to be on the safe side. A great rule of thumb is a 1-4 ratio. 1 drop of oil to 4 drops carrier oil. The most common carrier oils are ,,fractionated coconut oil*, ,,jojoba oil*, ,,almond oil*, ,,argon oil*, ,,grapeseed oil*.
Add 10-30 drops to a 10mL ,,glass roller bottle* and top with carrier oil. Roll on the back of your neck or bottom of your feet for a calm, grounding feeling.
Add 1-2 drops to your moisturize or lotion before applying.
Add 2-4 drops to a massage oil to promote meditation and relaxation.
Add 1 drop to your cuticles and nailbed to promote nail strength and growth.
Aromatically
Add 4-6 drops of Frankincense to your diffuser for a sweet, honey-like, woodsy fragrance. Frankincense can help create a grounded and focused space for prayer, meditation, and Scripture study. It has a stimulating aroma that can help calm spirits when emotions are running high.
Add 1-2 drops into the palm of your hands and take a few deep breaths. Rub your hands through your hair and allow it to be a natural diffuser.
You can diffuse Frankincense by itself or with other oils. My favorite Frankincense diffuser blends can be found at the bottom of the page.
Dietary
Frankincense is part of the vitality line, which means it can be ingested. Frankincense has a rich, sweet, woodsy flavor that can be added to your favorite beverages. It is great for immunity and overall well-being.
Add 1-2 drops in a ,,vegetable capsule* and take daily for immune support.
Add 1 drop to your water or green smoothie in the morning.
Add 1 drop to a teaspoon of honey and add to your tea.
