Your Guide To Dutch Wonderland
Plan Ahead and arrive early
To maximize your time at Dutch Wonderland, it’s crucial to plan your visit in advance. Check the park’s website for operating hours, special events, and ride closures. Arriving early allows you to beat the crowds and enjoy shorter lines, giving you ample time to experience all the park has to offer.
Cartoon Network Hotel guests are able to enter 30 minutes prior to the park opening. From my experience, begin arriving at the park 45 minutes prior to opening for prime parking and to be at the front of the line.
purchase tickets online
Save time and skip the lines by purchasing your tickets online. Dutch Wonderland often offers discounted prices for online purchases, and you’ll also have the flexibility to choose specific dates and ticket options that suit your family’s needs.
If you’re planning to visit at least twice, I highly recommend you purchase a season pass. One season pass is equal to the price of two visits. And if you upgrade one pass to gold, you will get free parking every visit. Silver passes and up also get discounts on food and merchandise throughout the park. The added savings makes it worth it.
check the height requirements
Before heading to the park, familiarize yourself with the height requirements for various rides and attractions. This way, you can manage expectations and ensure that everyone in your family can enjoy the rides they desire. Dutch Wonderland provides a comprehensive guide on their website, helping you plan accordingly.
create a game plan
Upon arrival, pick up a park map and check show times to create a game plan with your family. Identify the must-visit attractions and shows, and plan your route accordingly. By prioritizing your must-see experiences, you’ll be able to navigate the park efficiently and make the most of your time.
Enjoy the water attractions
Dutch Wonderland offers refreshing water attractions, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Don’t forget to pack swimwear, towels, and sunscreen. The Duke’s Lagoon and the Pipeline Plunge are popular favorites among visitors of all ages.
Pro tip: plan your visit around the waterpark. Either start or end your day there. That way you only need to change once.
catch the live shows
Dutch Wonderland’s live shows provide excellent entertainment for the whole family. From interactive performances to musical extravaganzas, the shows are designed to captivate young minds and create lasting memories. Check the show schedule in advance to plan your day accordingly.
pack snacks and stay hydrated
While Dutch Wonderland offers a variety of food options, packing some snacks and water bottles is a smart idea to keep energy levels up and save on expenses. There are picnic areas available throughout the park where you can enjoy your own snacks. Dutch Wonderland allows small (12×12) soft coolers to keep your drinks and snacks cold.
There is a picnic area near the parking lot as well if you want to save money and eat outside of the park. If you want to do this, I would recommend upgrading to premium parking. That way your car will be close to the entrance/exit and make this lunch option a quick stop.
take advantage of the kingdom coaster swap
If you have young children who don’t meet the height requirements for certain rides, take advantage of Dutch Wonderland’s Kingdom Coaster Swap program. This allows one parent or guardian to wait with a child while the other rides, and then switch roles without waiting in line again.
capture memories
Don’t forget to bring your camera or smartphone to capture the magical moments you’ll experience at Dutch Wonderland. From character meet-and-greets to exhilarating rides, there will be countless opportunities for memorable snapshots.
Dutch Wonderland is a treasure trove of family-friendly entertainment, promising a day filled with laughter, thrills, and unforgettable memories. By following these tips, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit to this enchanting amusement park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Plan ahead, arrive early, and make the most of the rides, attractions, shows, and water features that Dutch Wonderland has to offer. With careful preparation, you’re well on your way to creating a magical experience for the entire family.
